Website: memphishomeschool.org/0602.htm

The mission of FOCUS is to facilitate the training of Christian home schooled students to effectively articulate and defend Biblical truth with love and humility in order to lead all people to become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ.

FOCUS is a parent-run family speech and debate cooperative for students who are primarily home schooled. We are now operating as an official ministry of Germantown Baptist Church.

FOCUS desires to provide students with opportunities to utilize their communication skills, both within the community and at NCFCA-sponsored tournaments.

We offer fall classes at Germantown Baptist Church on Monday afternoons and evenings for speech, team policy and LD debate, extemp club, apologetics club (new this year), and spring tournament track for competitors. We also have a student leadership program. We are currently full in our speech classes, but have openings in debate.

Contact: Lisa Stewart (423-476-5520)

Christian Communicators of Mid-East Tennessee meets in Sweetwater, Tennessee generally the second week of each month. Currently we are offering only Team Policy Debate; however, we are hoping to incorporate both Lincoln-Douglas and speech instruction soon. CCMET works closely with the state organization Christian Communicators of Tennessee to bring educational events to speech and debate students throughout the year. Although we place emphasis on speech and debate competition, we strive not to forget our primary purpose, which is to learn to effectively and confidently defend our faith in Jesus Christ in a manner which is pleasing to Him.

Intrepid Debate Club
Murfreesboro
General Contact: Malinda Tuggle

Extemporaneous Coach: Ron Tuggle

Intrepid Speech and Debate Club of Christian Communicators of Middle Tennessee (CCMT) began four years ago in the living room of Ron and Malinda Tuggle. The club has evolved from a tiny group consisting of two of the Tuggle children and a couple of other homeschooled students learning about speech and debate to over two dozen policy and Lincoln-Douglas debaters in 2002-2003. Several members have competed at the national level of NCFCA tournaments and won, so competition is an important aspect of this club. The primary focus of Intrepid Speech and Debate Club, though, is to help strengthen homeschool students by providing an opportunity for our young people to sharpen critical thinking and analytical skills through speech and debate. This forum provides a platform to promote Godly character through the ability to articulate truth and defend our faith to the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. Our name, Intrepid, signifies warriors who are fearless, bold, and resolved as expressed in our motto: "Lord, grant Your servants that with all boldness, they may speak Your word" (Acts 4:29b).

We meet every Monday night at Middle Tennessee State University Library in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. For further information, visit our web site at www.intrepidclub.i8.com.
